You got engaged, now what?!
Are you recently engaged? Yay and CONGRATULATIONS! I know this is an extremely exciting time for you, your fiancé, and your families.
My [unsolicited] advice is simple:
- enjoy your journey;
- relax; and
- stay as organized as possible.
WeddingWire recently published this handy 12 month timeline to help you stay organized and remain light as a breeze during your planning process (read: not stressed out!). Having a wedding planning timeline has been so helpful for me during my planning, I had to share it with you!
(If your engagement duration isn’t 12 months, no worries! Adjust your timeline accordingly. The most important thing is to just stick to the order in which you book your vendors.)

Pay close attention to when you should start your search for and book your professional makeup artist. The timeline may be just a bit off here. Makeup artists’ calendars start to fill up 6 – 12 months out. Waiting until month 6 to start looking will very likely limit the choices available to you.
To ensure you get your preferred choice of artist, you should start researching (and testing) your makeup artists when you start looking for your wedding gown – around 8 – 9 months out. Look to book your makeup artist no later than 6 months prior to your wedding date.
If you opt for a bridal preview after booking your makeup artist, schedule it 6 – 12 weeks before your wedding day.
For even more convenience, there’s an app for that! No really…several actually. I use – and love – “WedHappy” to keep me organized and on top of all of my wedding planning needs.
Happy planning!
