If you’ve been following us on social media (and if you’re not, you should be!) you know that our Stunning Bride Robyn and her groom Maurice’s gorgeous wedding day was featured in the Spring/Summer 2018 issue of the Knot Chicago magazine – on news stands now through the end of April. I was SO excited to run out and get a copy that I literally did a shimmy and two step in the aisle at Walgreen’s when I saw they had the issue. That’s major because I can’t dance. Lol. True story! We are so happy to have a chance to share a few more images from this beautiful wedding day with you all.
There is a very fine line between sharing and over exposing. Whenever we post our Stunning Brides we take considerable care not to share images that are too intimate or special. We want to share their day with you, but some things on a wedding day are sacred and should be kept between the couple. This time around, we are really straddling that line and are admittedly sharing a bit more than we normally would because the wedding was published and these pictures are just too gorgeous NOT to share.
Robyn was the epitome of the Classic Glam Bride discussed in our post “Which Bride Are You?” Her makeup directive was simple and to the point for herself and her ladies. She wanted “nothing you would see on Instagram.” Boom!
The makeup for Robyn and her ladies was soft and impactful – which is a very delicate dance – while still remaining bulletproof as the wedding was outdoors at The Morton Arboretum. Skin was clean and radiant with added dimension, but very little contouring. We are so happy that Robyn trusted us to deliver!
And speaking of outside weddings, I love this picture of Robyn’s Maid of Honor/best friend touching her up using the Deluxe Touch Up Kit we provided. If you look closely you can even see it peeking from under the Maid of Honor’s arm. Robyn and her ladies remained stunning for the entire night despite the Chicagoland heat and humidity.
Robyn hails from Dallas, Texas where Bridal Portraits are a big thing. This image of Robyn in her full wedding day look was displayed at the Reception and now lives at her parents’ home in Texas. When I saw the portrait I instantly fell in love with the idea of having something like a dress rehearsal for the wedding day. I wish I had known or thought to do this for my wedding. It takes a lot of the nerves and guess work out of the wedding day. Bridal Portraits are pretty common in the South, but aren’t a “thing” in Chicago. I totally wish it were! Anyone want to book a session for Bridal Portraits before their wedding day?! 🙂
Every woman deserves a man that looks at them the way Maurice looks at Robyn!
Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you many years of love, happiness, and friendship.
Note: Robyn’s photographers over at Artisan Events graciously shared a few of her professional wedding images with us and granted permission for use on the Lena Clark Beauty website.
