There is no right or wrong answer. Both women are extremely beautiful and their makeup is perfectly executed (shout out to their makeup artists!). When you break down the elements of each look, you are able to see key differences in their style.
Bride A is our “Glamazon” or “Insta Glam ” Bride: Her wedding day is all about bling, over the top glamour, and more bling. Her makeup style is characterized by sculpted brows that could – and might – cut you, loads of lashes, glittery eyes (hello bling!), deep contours, and Highlights. To. The. Gawds. Honey! These brides usually want a complete wedding day transformation.
Bride B is our “Natural Glam” or “Classic Glam” Bride: Her wedding day is all about romance, sophistication, classic beauty, and subtle glamour. Her look is characterized by romantic tones that complement her skin and wedding day palette, soft shadows and highlights that wash effortlessly over the face, sexy eyes that shimmer and dazzle in the light, and flirty lashes that flutter. These brides usually want to look like a more polished, slightly more glam version of themselves.
Gabrielle Union is the most popular celebrity inspiration for the majority of our Stunning Brides. Heck, Mrs. Gabrielle Union-Wade’s wedding day makeup was MY wedding day makeup inspiration (which is one of the reasons it was such an honor to work with her last year). Her makeup style is typically a timeless look that transcends decades, cultures, and even races. It’s the type of look you can look back on in 20 years and it’s still relevant.
Our glamour girls can still achieve a visually interesting look by loading up the lashes, adding a little texture to the eyes (hey shimmer), using a bright pop of color for the lips, OR sculpting out those cheekbones. The “or” in that sentence is important because adding ALL of those elements at once can take a makeup look from pretty to overwhelming. Notice in the image, our Natural Glam Bride (Bride A) is rocking sculpted eyebrows with a subtle highlight which really draws attention to her eyes, but doesn’t distract from or overpower her overall look.
We discuss the differences between these two looks – and more – with our Stunning Brides during their Bridal Preview. This way they are able to make an informed decision and know just what they are signing up for when they choose their wedding day makeup look. Our goal with our brides is to literally STUN their guests with their beauty, not their makeup – hence our term “Stunning Brides.”
We asked this question on FB during one of our #WeddingWednesday chats and the results were:
Bride A: 10%
Bride B: 80%
So tell us: which bridal makeup style speaks to you most? Remember there is no right OR wrong answer; just different OPINIONS.
With love, light, & happiness!
